Really, enough cannot be said about the roof deck at Harold’s Mansion. As Harold will tell you, it’s a work in progress, but it’s not only the things there (comfy couches, hammocks and a pool table) that make it so nice, it’s the spirit of place. It’s a fun, relaxed setting to enjoy a beer or a cup of tea, to watch the sun set behind Mt. Tallinis, or to chat with fellow travelers.

On BBQ nights it can turn into a party, as it did when my friend Kelly was visiting last week. It also happened to be her birthday and we celebrated in true Filipino style. That is with cake and balut!
