Buglasan
This past weekend was the culmination of the annual Buglasan Festival in Dumaguete. Buglasan is the festival of festival for the province of Negros Oriental. It is two weeks of activities and competitions between all the municipalities in the province. My favorite events are the showdown dance competition and street dancing. Colorful costumes and creative choreography are the name of the game.

In the evenings people can stroll around Sidlakang Village where each municipalities showcases products from their region or listen to live music in Freedom Park. The festival ends with a firework competition on the boulevard. Luckily I did not have to brave the crowd to see the show…we watch from the comfort of Harold’s Mansion roof deck.
